Dave O ' Connor

Just one thing to add to all the memories we have all been saying about the lovely Dave O'Connor (aka Dave King, Manc Man, The Enigma)

Who can forget his accomplishes in Gravy Wrestling. Was it 2 or 3 times he emerged champion.

He asked me once to be his gravy tag partner and i always said no, reason being, the gravy wrestling took place in public and i was not comfortable wrestling in public.

But it just showed the kind of bloke Dave was, not afraid of anything and no inhibitions.

A big shame we didnt get the gravy match, but a massive shout out

The Heavyweight Gravy Champion

Dave O'Connor

Always remembered.

A really good guy it was my privilege to wrestle. Never did the gravy but did the basement and his place.

If those mats of his could talk!!! I used to watch his Bulldog Wrestling videos and fantasise about meeting him. Which I duly did back in 2018. Will be very sadly missed 😭😭😭

I met Dave last summer. While we weren't able to wrestle, we had our share of pints at the pub. Hearing of his passing the other day was a punch to the gut in the gut, but not in the way I usually enjoy. I made sure he was acknowledged at dinner a few nights ago at the NYC WrestleFest. Fantastic guy with a killer taste in music as well.

The professor, thank you for that, I know it would mean a lot to Dave’s family that people far and wide are thinking of this mans man wrestler.
Thank you for what you did.

Thank you for your donations and words of support,

Please continue to share the fundraiser.

The following message is from Dave’s partner Re. Funeral arrangements and wishes;

On Tuesday the service is at Blackley crem, Victoria ave, Blackley, M9 8PJ and afterwards we are going to The Fox Inn, Blackley, M9 8DX. If possible can you wear a light blue item as Dave was a city fan.
No flowers please as there will be a collection for Manchester dogs home instead, as you know, Dave loved dogs.

Thank you

Sincere condolences to Daves Partner. Dave was a great guy and an inspiration to all of us wrestling fans and an all round decent man.
Chatted with him on few occasions ..sadly never met him.

Yep, he was proud of that title, and trained hard for it. It was obviously some silly fun, but in a really good cause, and it was important to Dave to show the athleticism and technique involved in wrestling to an appreciative audience—even in gravy. 🩵
