About Vaccine Badges

We implemented a "I stay at home to fight the virus!" badge, which we added at the beginning of the global pandemic. Since March 2021, we allow members to add a new badge indicating that they received a COVID-19 vaccine.

This information is provided entirely on a voluntary basis from the members. MeetFighters.com will not verify this statement's truth, not can we be held responsible for any possible misuse of the badge or a meeting. When in any doubt, we highly recommend NOT to meet.

In no way should this badge encourage people to meet without further consideration. Recommendation and directives from your local government and WHO has to be followed at all times.

This badge should more act as an advertisement for the COVID-19 vaccinations and encourage other members to participate in the global fight against COVID-19. Not every person on this planet can be vaccinated, due to existing health conditions or because the vaccine is not available yet. However, if a jab is made available to you, this badge should encourage you even more to get an appointment. The faster we can spread the vaccination, the sooner this pandemic might get over, and we can all get back to our regular lives and Meet Fighters again.

For more information, visit the COVID-19 vaccination information page of the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/covid-19-vaccines), or your local government.

EDIT:
How to add the badge:
You can add the badge in your Profile Settings. (scroll all the way down, below your profile introduction.)

This is unrelated to the gist of the post. But since it was implied in the post, I just wanted to point out that those who got the virus are still recommended to get the vaccine, based on current CDC guidelines.

"Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19. That’s because experts do not yet know how long you are protected from getting sick again after recovering from COVID-19. Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible—although rare—that you could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 again."

maybe this is the start of a grievous discrimination: sanitary qualities and data should not be asked for...

In this case, I would recommend for you not enter the volunteering data.

It is always important to remember that those who got a vaccine can still contract and thus, transmit covid-19 to others. My brother, who already got two vaccine shots, was infected a week ago and is currently in quarantine. If he register on MeetFighters and put a badge on his profile, will people feel more safe to meet him?

I ask any member who says that he is vaccinated twice to bring his vaccination card with him for proof, I know that you may still contract the virus but it helps mentally to know that you are better off than not.

Vaccine certification is not a free pass to meet other members with peace of mind. You may still have covid, spread to another vaccinated person and he or she spread to other people.

You may also contract the virus from other vaccinated members during a meeting and spread to your family.

This can happen even if both of you and the person you are meeting are vaccinated.

If your local health system is saturated, do not meet anyone, period.

Thank you for thinking of our safety and health as well as that of our opponents. Playing roulette with covid is very dangerous.

I also agree about getting the vaccine after having covid as I did. I had a bad case and probably should have gone to the ER but I recovered and emphatically implore you to get the vaccine. Just got my second shot yesterday! Stay safe and keep using the masks no matter what a few state's governors say. Take care of yourselves/family!

Good for you. We cannot afford to loose you. I know that first handed. lol Vaccine supplies are limited now in Pennsylvania and the plan is to give the new Johnson and Johnson vaccine to teachers and support staff first to get the schools opened back up.

Why not ask who is HIV positive, who is vaccinated against the flu or who is under prep? Have you gone crazy or is it a joke? Why not let people talk to each other about what they think is important for a meeting?

I don't think I'm crazy.
HIV and the yearly flu's are not nice too, but nothing changed our world that drastically and fast as COVID-19 is currently doing. And btw. you are still allowed to talk to each other! ;)

Why don't you just make this site great instead of playing the doctor? Is it the role of meetfighters to make health recommendation?

Thank you for caring about all the fighters here enough so they can continue to exist and be on meetfighters. You are doing an excellent job on this site. I am sure all of us have been on the other sites at one time or another, and we do know the issues there , and that is why we are here. We chose to be on this site and no one is forcing us to stay a member. There are members here with a Healthcare background who are grateful when others take the initiative to provide precautions during this pandemic.

Cancel culture is such an important issue. Dr. Zeus and Mr. Potato Head being threatened is far worse than Americans dying of covid. By the way democracy with a small d means our democratic republic and with a Capital D it means the party. Some of have been both registered Democrats and Republicans in our lifetime. You should consider wrestling with the former Ohio coach Jim Jordan and share cancel culture ideas together.

I never knew that the site owner and/or admin. (if mutually exclusive) were American citizens who somehow voted in the 2020 election.
Ur more than welcome to express ur disagreement with the site’s policy but, thus far, urs is the only comment of a political nature I’ve seen here....but then again, no surprise from someone with, what I assume are ur overall political views.

Advertising the vaccine is a waste of time... it doesn't mean you can't still carry and pass on the virus.... untill science tells us that there is hard evidence that it can.. don't discriminate.... if we are reducing social distancing... then we run the risk of catching Covid.. or 'Flu.. or a cold.... the vaccine means that the person vaccinated is not likely to die from it.

The covid 19 in most cases but not all are 2 jabs. In the U.K. it is 2 jabs for full protection. Not many in the U.K. have had the complete course yet. Large number has had the 1st jab which gives a good protection even though not a full course. I think their the should 2 labels one for full vaccinations and 1 for 1 jab

Having the vaccine does not mean you cannot spread it. Being vaccinated does not mean you should meet up or not wear a mask.

Sounds a great idea that people can show that they've been vaccinated, but message makes it unclear if this is something people can display after the first dose, or both , I ask this as someone who has now received my first jab

People here are already asking for covid-19 search features. Not only this may lead to discrimination, but also can expose people at risk of meeting other fighters that may have covid, despite the vaccination.

If you got a covid shot, good for you, you are unlikely to die from this disease, but there is no guarantee that vaccinated members are free from the virus, and that you can not contract and spread the virus to your family members even if you are vaccinated.

MEETFIGHTERS this is EXCELLENT IDEA taking the lead in fighting against Covid which has killed 2.6 million people worldwide.
Negative comments should be ignored, often from countries with HIGH COVID death tolls like USA. In fact people were AMAZED that guys were using the Match Meet during lockdown and we all shared how crazy they must be. It is great CREDIT to MEETFIGHTERS to implement this
am sure I feel am speaking for the majority when I say WE APPRECIATE your action THANK YOU !
