With me its definately around the belly button or just below, a lot less chance of injury and when abs are worn down you can take punches deeper there without worrying about too much about internal injuries yet enjoying that deep pain and exileration that comes with it. High punches from what I have read seem to risk a lot of injuries to liver, stomach and even lungs and have a different feel to it.

Maybe my anatomy is a bit different. The belly button feels a bit weird, as though there are different nerve endings there. Below the naval and it feels like I'm being punched in the bladder, and that does nothing for me. Just above the naval is the perfect spot for me. There it feels like the deepest dead center ache site. A bit higher is good, but not as good. Solar plexus area doesn't work for me. Just above the naval, even if my muscles are totally weakened, I can still take a lot of hits.

I have taken shots unflexed. You have to work closely with the puncher and he has to know what he is doing to prevent injury. The noises the stomach makes and the noises the receiver makes are very different when you take a hit to an unflexed gut. One of my givers really likes those noises and the feel of his fist scrambling my intestines. The pain of deep gut pain is like a jolt of electricity shooting through my body.

I agree a great deal with Ism1966. I especially like is gut punching of my entire abdomen from just below the solar plexus all the way to the pubic bone and the right side to the left side with lots of punches to the navel area. MMA style gloves or boxing gloves to feel the effect of each punch better while reducing bruising. I disagree on just below the sternum, that is where the xiphoid process can be damaged.
I am a guy with a bigger gut and have taken serious ungloved punches especially to the lower where the bruising was quite substantial with significant tenderness for over a week. Thus I prefer receiving punches with MMA style gloves or boxing gloves to reduce bruising and greatly extending the length of time I can take a good gut beating. The whole abdominal area can be made strongly red and the underlying muscle broken down top to bottom and left to right till completely incapable of resisting even mild touch.
