Hey- sorry to hear but a few suggestions- first, google muscle knot & go to Healthline- their discussion re muscle knots fits your description to a tee (cept for the fact that it's on your gut- I never heard that one before either). Try their remedies- for eg, after some rest, all knots are usually relieved by a massage on the knot &/or hot/cold treatments, wchever works best. If any redness turns blue or purple, that would indicate an injury of some kind due to internal bleeding (beware of that). Second suggestion- before U do any forced impact training in the future, be sure to do some ab work to titen Ur gut & w/o knowing more, U may want to resume any forced impact training at a more moderate pace; U obviously have a hard worked core but that by itself doesn't mean it can handle forced impact hits, esp if prolonged. Once the tension eases, I would do some hollow holds & certain crunches (not your typical ab crunch) wch work the area that developed the knot best; I would resume forced impact w 10-20 hits w Ur fist in the affected area & see how that feels b4 I work the medicine ball (& PS- the med ball is a TRUE med ball, not a smash ball that doesn't have a smooth surface, right?). If U have any other questions, feel free to HMU. & I'm sure, it will heal well & fast. Good Luck.
Hi Guys! Just started working on impact conditioning–just self inflicted punches and medicine ball drops. During the sessions, I was a little red, muscles felt worked, but nothing too painful. After about two days later a knot has appeared about an inch above my navel. Its not sensitive unless you touch it, and almost feels like a tension knot you'd get in your back if you slept on it the wrong way. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on?

2020-05-16 08:31Are you sure it's not just a bruise? Haven't heard anything about a knot after a gutpunching session. Give it a couple days and it should go away.
