I don't know about standing bearhugs but pinning them on the ground and driving your weight into them can be devastating because you're not using your strength to hold them up just the squeeze, then you have your weight and if you're good at it you can use your legs to drive into them a little.
With standing I've only had lifting hugs from friends. I haven't met someone in person who has even attempted a good standing hug. That being said I've bearhugged muggle friends and gotten them to beg to be let go but they also don't have the same mindset as someone who wants to be squeezed.
