I've got 3 little cuts. One in the navel, two on the side (above the pelvis and below the ribs respectively).
Depending on how much the gallbladder has grown together with the surrounding tissue, the operation can take a while.
Because I had a general anesthetic, I had to stay in hospital overnight. I suspect it will be similar in the UK (because of health insurance)
I had no pain worth mentioning after the surgery.
After about two weeks, I was able to do some light, playful wrestling. Normal wrestling as before after about 6 weeks.
However, you should definitely take it easy after the surgery! You will realize what is possible and what is not. (Your body will tell you) I can't give you a prognosis of what will happen. But there is a very good chance that you will be fully fit to fight after a few weeks.
Thank you so much for replying, I feared the answer might be "are you insane, you'll never be able to wrestle again". So you've restored hope in me, I couldn't imagine never wrestling again.
Thank you Centaur, and good luck with your own recovery
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any experience to share after keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder.
How long to recover, how long before you could wrestle again (bearing in mind I use the word wrestle very loosely, rolling around more than fighting).
There are lots of sites with advice, but strangely, little mention of wrestling 😀

Depends on your level of fitness, your age and any other health conditions, I’d say at least a month for an in shape man at 60
